WHAT IS A GRIEF TO GRACE RETREAT?
Grief to Grace is a psychological and spiritual program for anyone who has been violated by physical, sexual, emotional, or spiritual abuse. Grief to Grace is a program for helping victims of abuse and trauma to discover spiritual healing and transformation. The program is led by a professionally trained team and is based on a strong Christian foundation and solid psychological principles.
Participants will embark upon a 5-day restorative journey of faith to find healing through the Living Scriptures, journaling, group activities, and therapeutic counseling.
It is a pilgrimage-meant to stop the emotional chaos of abuse, find a new beginning through Christ and in so doing, replace the suffering with a life capable of love and happiness that was lost as a victim of abuse.
WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF ABUSE?
Here are some of the symptoms of Abuse:
Symptoms of Abuse including the following:
Feeling like it is somehow your fault
Suicidal Thoughts or Attempts
Fits of crying
And/or withdrawal from intimate relationships
HOW MUCH DOES THE WEEKEND COST?
This retreat cost New Heart of Texas between $18,000-$20,000 per retreat. The cost for one participant is $1,500. However, due to the generosity of our donors we are able to offer scholarships up to $900 if needed. The cost of this 5-day retreat includes lodging, all meals and snacks and program materials.
HOW LONG ARE THE RETREATS?
The retreats last 5 days and begin on a Saturday at 1:00 pm and end the following Wednesday by 5:00 pm.
WHERE ARE THE RETREATS HELD?
Our retreats are held in a scenic, serene, and confidential location. Each participant will have her/his own private room. We keep the location confidential to protect your privacy.
HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE THERE?
We typically have 12-16 participants and 6-8 team members that consist of a lead facilitator, pastor, professional therapists, and other caring individuals.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING ON THE RETREAT?
Please bring a set of sheets, your own towels, and toiletries. Also bring a travel coffee cup and refillable water bottle.
HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR THE RETREAT?
WHERE DO WE GET THE INFORMATION AND DIRECTIONS FOR THE RETREAT?
One month before the retreat we will mail you a welcome packet that will include information about your upcoming retreat and the confidential directions to the retreat center.
CAN MY SPOUSE COME WITH ME ON THE RETREAT?
Yes, your spouse must also go through the intake process and fill out an application.
IS THERE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ONE-ON-ONE COUNSELING DURING THE RETREAT?
Yes, you may sign up for a 30-minute individual counseling session in the evenings after the day’s activities or during certain meals.
