Laura Shook, RN

Laura Shook has a heart that bridges oceans and cultures. She is a graduate of Baylor University and is a Registered Nurse. After serving eight years as missionaries in Latin America, Laura and her husband returned to the United States. In 2003, they founded Community of Faith in Cypress, Texas where thousands of people now worship together each weekend.  Community of Faith has been listed as one of the top 100 churches in the country. Laura is a gifted speaker and teacher. She sets the tone for the international ministries of the church, bringing an awareness of global issues as a tireless advocate for the broken and forgotten. Her years of cross-cultural ministry and her experience as a cancer survivor and a registered nurse, have given her a unique understanding and compassion for hurting people. Laura is the author of Forever Hope, the story of her journey through cancer and recovery, and Prayers For My Children, a daily prayer guide for parents. Laura loves ice cream, reading, travel, and spending time with her husband, Mark, and their children and grandchildren.
