The New Heart of Texas Marriage Intensive is a five-day Christ-centered retreat designed to heal emotional wounds, rebuild trust, and restore deep connection in marriage through counseling, guided reflection, and the Living Word of God.
Our five-day psychological and spiritual Marriage Intensive retreat is a transformative experience designed to foster deeper connection, emotional intimacy, and support within relationships. Through a Christ-centered approach, participants engage in activities that explore the underlying psychological dynamics of their marriage—addressing communication patterns, emotional triggers, and relational strengths. The retreat combines the Living Scriptures with marriage counseling, group activities, therapeutic facilitation, cognitive restructuring, and compassion and grief work, offering a powerful healing process grounded in Jesus Christ and the Word of God.
Set in a serene environment, this immersive program combines expert-led facilitation and group discussions with personal reflection and guided Living Scriptures. The wounds that cause division and isolation will be opened, cleansed, and redeemed as we restore wholeness and beauty that God intends for our marriage. This journey is a pilgrimage to rediscover the love, tenderness, belonging, safety, joy, and peace that comes from reconnecting and understanding each other’s needs and desires.
This will be a powerful psychological and spiritual journey that provides hope and encouragement in the midst of distress. By the end of the retreat, couples will not only gain valuable insights and tools to navigate challenges, but also rekindle their love and commitment, leaving with a renewed sense of purpose and connection.
The Marriage Intensive is an adaptation of the Grief to Grace program written by Dr. Theresa Burke, Ph.D., LPC, NCP, and Kevin Burke, MSS/LSW. They are the founders of Rachel’s Vineyard weekends for healing after abortion, now offered throughout the world and recognized as a leader in the field of post-abortion trauma and treatment. Their programs are known and highly regarded for compassionate reverence for each person’s dignity and worth. Our Marriage Intensive provides a professional therapeutic staff, and all treatment is based on a firm Christian foundation as well as sound psychological principles and a perceptive understanding of trauma.

The Marriage Intensive Ministry uses the altar as a symbol of covenant—where love is refined, vows are renewed, and hearts are restored. Just as the altar represents a place of surrender and sacred union, it becomes the setting where God breathes new life into marriages. This reflects the powerful words of Scripture in Ephesians 5, where marriage mirrors Christ’s love for the Church.
Prayer is an integral part of our retreat. We are seeking prayer warriors to commit to praying for each and every hour we are at the retreat. We need prayer for the retreat, the leaders, the participants, and their families and the circumstances surrounding their attendance.
